Up Up On Cebu Skies!

It was two years ago since my last visit to the Philippines. I just did not noticed that time truly passes-by so fast now. This image was taken as we were boarding Cebu Pacific airline from Cebu International Airport to Manila. I have to accompany my sister in Manila for her flight to the United States that time. From my airplane window, you can see the island of Cebu in my image below. I guess that body of water you see is the so-called Cebu Strait. We stayed for 4 days in Manila until my sister’s flight to the U.S. We also took the chance to see some sights in Manila during that visit. I would like to share more photos from that short trip from Philippines capital city, Manila.

I am hoping to be there again next year. …in God’s will. I am also praying for the victims of earthquake lately in the Visayas particularly in the Negros Oriental and Occidental parts.

My Third Visit in Venice, Italy

Venezia, its name in Italian is one of the many wonderful cities to visit in this world. It is a lovely place and considered as a romantic city for many due to its setting and fascinating character. The images I have below was taken during my third visit last summer 2011. My first visit was sometime in October 2005 and the second one was April 2006. I still wish to visit this city in the future to witness the famous Venice Film Festival and the Carnival of Venice.

Venice is also considered to be one of the most important tourist destination in the world considering its art, culture and architecture. Some of its sights include the Piazza San Marco (St. Mark’s Square) where the St. Mark’s Basilica is located, also a worth to see, the Grand Canal and many others.

During my first and second visit in Venice, I did not experience a Gondola ride. That is one of the reasons why I came back to Venice last year. It is one of the many ways to explore Venice especially its many canals around the city. It was fun and I truly enjoyed it.

these images were taken while we were riding a Gondola in Venice last July 2011. You can see the Ducal or Doge’s Palace on the left side of the photos here. You can also see the Campanile tower of St. Mark’s basilica on this picture.

The Fountain in Spanish Steps Rome, Italy

It was quite an adventurous trip we had in Rome last summer 2010. First, it was our first trip in this city and second we have to discover Rome by ourselves. Departing from Nuremberg Airport in Germany, me and my friend Nonna from the United States boarded Air Berlin to spend some days in Italy’s capital city.

To make the story short, we arrived in Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport safely. Hired a ban to bring us to our hotel. It was already evening as we arrived our hotel, thus the sightseeing began the next day.

One of the sights we visited is the Spanish Steps. Since it was summer when we went to Rome, a lot of tourists flocked in Italy’s capital city. The Scalinata della Trinità dei Monti as it is called in Italian is actually a set of steps leading to Trinità dei Monti, a church at the top of it. It is located between the Piazza di Spagna at the base and Piazza Trinità dei Monti. You can see fountain near the foot of the Spanish Steps

The fountain near the foot of the Spanish Steps during our trip in Rome last August 2010. The Scalita or Spanish Steps is known to be the widest staircase in Europe.

The Hohenzollern Bridge Over the Rhine River in Cologne, Germany

A friend from the United States visited me last summer 2010. We made some trips in some of the cities in Europe. One of the cities we visited was Cologne, the fourth largest city in Germany located in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Here are some of the images I took from Köln, German word for Cologne. This is the Hohenzollern Bridge or Hohenzollernbrücke in Germany. It is a bridge crossing the river Rhine in this city. This bridge is only accessible to rail and pedestrian traffic. Before its destruction in 1945, it was both use as a railway and street bridge.

The total length of the Hohenzollern Bridge is 409.19 meters (1,342.5 ft).

You can take cruises on the river Rhine in Cologne. See one of the cruise boat here, it is located near the Hohenzollern Bridge.

Strolling Granada, Spain at Night

It was just a month ago and I miss those days when we were in Spain. It was so far the best vacation I had last year. Since our hotel in Granada is just located near the city center, we took the chance to stroll during the night. It was December that time and we were able to see the Christmas lights and decorations they had in the city. Me and my friend had fun as we walked and strolled some parts of the city.

Granada, a city in Andalusia, Spain is such a beautiful place to travel and to explore.

Happy New Year everyone! Another year in our lives has finally come! I hope this year will be a great one for all of us.

For the start of the year, I would love to share this snapshot taken during our visit to San Remo, a city in the Ligurian part of Italy. This city is a known tourist destination in the Italian Riviera. Our trip there last spring 2011 was a very memorable one.

Lots of Olive Trees in Andalusia, Spain

Olive trees, lots of olives and more olives! I thought, it is Turkey who has the biggest plantation of Olives but it is not. I also saw hundreds of hectares of olive plantation during our vacation in Turkey but Spain is said to have more. It is actually in Spain particularly in the region of Andalusia. During our second day sightseeing in Andalusia while heading to Cordoba, I was amazed by the Olive trees I saw along the road. It was truly amazing!

Would you believe if I say that Spain is the country with the highest number of olive trees (more than 300 million), and is nowadays the world’s leading olive and olive oil producer and exporter. According to Iberia Nature, of the 2.1 million hectares (5.19 million acres) of olive groves, 92% are dedicated to olive oil production. The average annual production varies due to the cyclical nature of the harvest, but typically runs between 600,000 and 1,000,000 metric tons, only 20% of which is exported. About 80% of the crop is concentrated in Andalusia, the biggest olive growing area on the planet.

Historical and Romantic Toledo in Spain

This is one of the places we visited during our 8-days trip in Spain recently. Toledo is the capital of autonomous community of Castile-La Mancha. It is located around 70 km south of Madrid. It is worthy to make a sidetrip in this town if you are especially in Madrid.

Toledo is a historical city dating back to Roman occupation (Toletum) circa 192BC. The ruins of the Roman circus are still visible just outside the walls of the city. Roman occupation was followed by Visagothic rule, Muslim rule and finally the Reconquest of Toledo in 1085AD.

Its location that sits majestically above the the Tagus River (Rio Tajo) made this place an often overlooked gem. It is truly a romantic town!

I had a lot of things to share during that awesome trip to the different places and cities in Spain. Feel free to visit my other travel websites for more updates and images.

Here is a beautiful scene of Toledo. It was foggy as the time we were there but it was still an amazing scenery. This place is fantastic!

Toledo viewed from Rio Tajo or Tagus River. Our visit to this town last December 9, 2011 was a very memorable one.

Denoted a UNESCO heritage site in 1986, Toledo represents a very worthwhile day-trip from Madrid. Arm yourself with a map to avoid getting completely lost!

The Sunset and Beautiful Beach in Panglao, Philippines

This is one of the beautiful places I visited in my home country during my vacation last year. The colorful sunset, the white sand beach and the blue water in Panglao. It is an island in Bohol Province in the Philippines.

Panglao is one of the top tourist destinations in the Philippines. With its world class and beautiful dive spots, corals reefs and beautiful beaches, are only some of the reasons why it is on top of the list of must-to-visit in the Philippines.

I love this place and still wishes to visit it again and again. This image was taken during my second visit in Panglao last February 2010.
